The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined the programme and voter identification requirements for its National Delegates Conference and election of national officers scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026.

In a notice dated September 30 and signed by the Chairman of the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), Frederick Opare-Ansah, the party said the conference would begin with consideration of constitutional amendments at 9:00 a.m., followed by the election of national officers from 12:00 p.m.

The elections will be conducted across 31 polling stations, with delegates voting to fill nine national positions.

The positions are National Chairman, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.

The Electoral Commission (EC) is expected to conduct the elections and verify delegates before they cast their ballots.

According to the notice, every delegate must present a valid identification document before voting. Accepted documents include a Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card. Delegates have also been advised to bring sufficient identification documents to facilitate verification.

The NOEC has urged all constituency, regional and national officers to communicate the arrangements to delegates under their respective jurisdictions and ensure that participants are adequately prepared for the conference.

The October 3 election forms part of the NPP’s broader preparations to constitute its national leadership structure. The party has previously said the Electoral Commission will oversee the election under the supervision of the NOEC.

The NOEC has also completed the final delegates register ahead of the conference and introduced an online verification system through which delegates can confirm their eligibility.
