High Court issues warrant for arrest of Manhyia South MP

The Accra High Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Agyei Baffour Awuah, according to the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Justice Sai.

In a Facebook post, Dr Justice Sai said Mr Baffour Awuah had, since February 2026, refused to honour an invitation from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in connection with a criminal investigation.

He said the imminent arrest forms part of an EOCO inquiry into alleged unauthorised financial transactions at SIC Life Savings and Loans Company Limited.

According to Dr Justice Sai, the investigation relates to suspected offences including financial loss, dissipation of public funds and money laundering.

Dr Justice Sai said the High Court had consequently issued a warrant for the arrest of the MP as EOCO continues its investigations.
