Ato Forson: Ghanaian interest remains priority in budget hearings
Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, says the interest of Ghanaians remains the government’s foremost consideration as it concludes its budget hearings with various ministries, departments and agencies this week.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Dr Ato Forson said the government was expected to conclude the hearings with the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He said decisions taken throughout the budget preparation process would be guided by the need to prioritise the interests of the Ghanaian people.
“Through every hearing and every decision, one principle remains non-negotiable: the interest of the Ghanaian people come first,” he said.
The budget hearings form part of the processes leading to the preparation of the government’s budget and fiscal plans.
