President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut sod on Thursday, August 27, for the construction of a new multi-tiered, multi-purpose car park and airport hotels complex at the Accra International Airport.

The project is expected to significantly transform the airport’s parking, hospitality and commercial facilities while enhancing the overall experience for passengers and visitors.

The development will feature a seven-storey car park with more than 2,000 parking bays, providing additional parking capacity to address growing demand at the airport.

The complex will also include two hotels, a pedestrian connector linking the development to the airport terminal, a shopping mall and a sky lounge.

Another key feature will be an aircraft-viewing sky observatory, offering visitors an elevated vantage point to observe aircraft operations at the airport.

The project forms part of efforts to modernise infrastructure around the Accra International Airport and expand facilities to meet the needs of the country’s growing aviation and tourism sectors.

President Mahama is expected to officially commence the project with the sod-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 27.
