Bawumia Engages Three Health Professional Associations on Key Industry Concerns
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has held discussions with three health professional associations as part of his ongoing stakeholder consultations ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The meeting, held at his office on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, brought together the leadership of the Ghana Health Information Management Association, the Ghana Association of Community Mental Health Officers, and the Nutrition and Dietetics Association of Ghana.

Discussions focused on key concerns affecting the health sector, including professional cadre recognition, legislation, recruitment, regulation, and improved conditions of service.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the three associations to share their concerns and perspectives on issues affecting their respective professions and the broader healthcare delivery system.
Dr Bawumia said stakeholder engagements were important in helping him and the NPP gain a better understanding of the challenges facing various professional groups.

According to him, the insights gathered from such consultations would help the party develop policies tailored to the needs and concerns of Ghanaians.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the three associations for making time to engage with him and share their professional experiences and insights.
The meeting forms part of Dr Bawumia’s broader consultations with stakeholders across various sectors to gather input on issues of national importance and inform the NPP’s policy development process.
