Gomoa Amanful Set for 2026 Ahobaa Kese

Gomoa Amanful in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region is set to become the centre of attraction from August 17 to 24, 2026, as the community celebrates its annual Ahobaa Kese Festival.

This year’s celebration is being held under the theme, Celebrating Our Heritage and Supporting the Construction of a Community Market.”

Speaking to Savika News, the Chairman of the Festival Planning Committee and Diaspora Secretary, Mr Evans Koomson, said the chiefs and people of Gomoa Amanful were determined to make this year’s festival memorable for patrons.

He therefore called on all residents, natives and well-wishers, particularly those in the diaspora, to participate actively in the celebration and contribute to the development of the community

“I will call on both the elders and the young ones to take part in Ahobaa Kese 2026, to grace our homeland, Gomoa Amanful, and to practise our rich culture,” he said.

Mr Koomson said the festival would provide an opportunity for the people to showcase and preserve their cultural heritage while mobilising support for the construction of a community market.

He disclosed that several dignitaries were expected to grace the celebration, including the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Green Transition and Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency, as well as other prominent personalities.

He said the presence of the dignitaries, together with the various activities lined up for the week-long celebration, would add significance to this year’s Ahobaa Kese.

Mr Koomson urged the people of Gomoa Amanful to unite and use the festival as an opportunity to promote the development, culture and heritage of the community.

He also encouraged the youth to take an active interest in the traditions of their forebears and work together with the elders to sustain the cultural identity of Gomoa Amanful for future generations.
