Semenyo Makes History with PFA Team of the Year Award

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has made history after being named in the 2025/26 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

The achievement makes Semenyo the first Ghanaian player to be selected for the prestigious PFA Premier League Team of the Year, marking a significant milestone in his career and for Ghanaian football.

The forward enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 Premier League campaign, making 37 appearances and playing 3,196 minutes across the season.

He scored 17 goals and provided four assists, contributing significantly to his teams’ attacking output.

Semenyo began the campaign with Bournemouth, where he registered 10 goals and three assists before completing a move to Manchester City. At City, the Ghanaian continued his impressive form, adding seven goals and one assist to his season tally.

His consistent performances, goalscoring ability and impact in attack earned him recognition among the league’s outstanding players, culminating in his selection to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

The honour further underlines Semenyo’s rapid rise at the highest level of English football and places his name among the Ghanaian players who have made a significant impact on the Premier League stage.

For Ghana, his selection represents another landmark moment in the country’s football history.
