Afenyo-Markin to Agalga: I’ll Support You, but I’ll Turn Minority into Majority

Minority Leader Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin has pledged to support the new Majority Leader, James Agalga, in the discharge of his duties in Parliament.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Friday, Afenyo-Markin assured Agalga of his cooperation but stressed that he would remain firm in his responsibility as leader of the Minority Caucus.

According to him, while he would support the Majority Leader where necessary, his ultimate political objective remains to strengthen the Minority and work towards transforming it into the Majority.

“I’ll support you, but my job is to turn the Minority into the Majority,” Afenyo-Markin said.

He added that the Minority would continue to offer alternative perspectives and ensure that the Majority considered issues from different lenses in the interest of the country.

The remarks came as Parliament marked a new phase of leadership, with Afenyo-Markin outlining his commitment to constructive engagement while maintaining a strong and effective opposition.
