Cristiano Ronaldo Marries Georgina Rodríguez in Private Portugal Ceremony
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have married in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, after nearly 10 years together.
The couple tied the knot on Tuesday, August 11, in an intimate ceremony attended by their five children, according to Ronaldo’s representatives.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez confirmed the marriage on social media by sharing a photograph of their wedding rings. The ceremony took place in Cascais, a coastal town west of Lisbon, rather than the Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, where fans had recently gathered amid speculation that the couple would marry there.
Hundreds, and according to some reports around 2,000, fans had gathered outside Funchal Cathedral on August 8 expecting to see the football star and Rodríguez. The couple did not appear, and another wedding took place at the cathedral that day.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, met in Madrid in 2016 while Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. Their relationship became public the following year, and they have since built a family together.
Rodríguez announced their engagement on Instagram in August 2025, sharing a photograph of her engagement ring.
The marriage marks the latest chapter in a relationship that has remained under intense public attention because of Ronaldo’s status as one of football’s most recognizable figures.
The couple chose to keep the wedding private, with their children present for the ceremony in Cascais.
