President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to its non-alignment policy, declaring that the country remains “friends to all and enemies to none” as it seeks to attract investors from across the world.

Addressing the 2026 Financial Times Africa Summit in the United Kingdom, President Mahama emphasised the importance of building investment partnerships that deliver fair and mutually beneficial returns for both investors and host countries.

He noted that Africa’s economic future should be shaped by partnerships that promote shared prosperity, sustainable development and equitable benefits, rather than arrangements that disproportionately favour one party.

The President’s remarks reaffirm Ghana’s openness to international business cooperation while underscoring the country’s commitment to maintaining friendly relations with nations across the globe, regardless of their political and economic affiliations.

Ghana’s non-alignment policy reflects its approach to international relations, which seeks to preserve national sovereignty, promote peaceful coexistence and maintain constructive engagement with different countries.

President Mahama’s appeal for mutually beneficial investment partnerships also highlights the need for African countries to secure fair returns from investments in their economies, including opportunities for job creation, local enterprise development, technology transfer and long-term economic growth.

As African economies continue to seek investment to accelerate development, the President’s message underscores the importance of partnerships that recognise the interests of both foreign investors and the countries in which they operate.

His address at the summit forms part of broader discussions on Africa’s economic prospects, investment opportunities and the role of international partnerships in driving inclusive and sustainable growth across the continent.
