2nd Saltpond Homecoming Festival Underway with Maiden Inter-School Quiz Competition

The Mfantseman–Saltpond Development Alliance (MSDA) has officially launched the second edition of the Saltpond Homecoming Festival with its maiden Inter-School Quiz Competition (Preliminary Stage), bringing together 16 basic schools from the Saltpond Circuit.

The competition was marked by excitement and healthy academic rivalry as students showcased exceptional knowledge, confidence, and critical thinking skills in their quest to secure a place in the grand finale.

Following the keenly contested preliminary stage, six schools qualified for the finals: Mfantsiman M/A Basic School, Methodist A Basic School, SS. Peter and Paul Anglican Basic School, Kuntu Methodist Basic School, Catholic Boys Basic School, and Rev. Wilson B. Basic School.

The grand finale is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 24, 2026, at Hammond Hall in Saltpond, where the finalists will compete for the championship.

Addressing participants, the Founder and President of the Mfantseman–Saltpond Development Alliance (MSDA), Osagyefo Ernest De-Graft Egyir, reaffirmed the Alliance’s unwavering commitment to promoting quality education in the municipality. He assured teachers, students, and other stakeholders that MSDA remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance academic excellence and create opportunities for young people to thrive.

He noted that the maiden Inter-School Quiz Competition, held under the Saltpond Homecoming Festival, represents a historic milestone in the Alliance’s mission to nurture young talents, encourage academic excellence, and foster community development through education.

The Saltpond Homecoming Festival continues to serve as a platform for uniting residents and promoting educational, cultural, and developmental initiatives aimed at building a brighter future for the people of Saltpond.
