Ace broadcast journalist Samuel Kojo Brace has announced his intention to serve the people of Ahanta West as their Member of Parliament when the opportunity presents itself in 2028.

The journalist, popularly known as “Ahanta Pele,” says he intends to pursue the mandate on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), subject to the party’s internal democratic process.

Mr Brace made his intention known in a press statement released on Monday, September 28, 2026, dubbed “Ahanta Pele Speaks.”

“When the New Patriotic Party opens nominations, I will formally submit myself to the party’s democratic process and contest the parliamentary primaries,” he declared.

In announcing his political ambition, Mr Brace extended an appeal to the people of Ahanta West and the various groups whose collective strength, he believes, can help shape the journey ahead.

He called on traditional and religious leaders, professionals, farmers, traders, fishermen, artisans, teachers, students, young people and women, as well as members and supporters of the NPP, to join him on the journey.

“I respectfully ask the people of Ahanta West, members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party, our traditional leaders, religious leaders, professionals, farmers, traders, fishermen, artisans, teachers, students, our young people and women, to walk with me as we begin this journey,” he said.

Mr Brace also expressed confidence in the leadership and vision of the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying he believes he possesses the qualities needed to lead the country.

“So, like millions of Ghanaians, I believe Dr Bawumia is the kind of leader we need to lead this beautiful country. It is for this reason that I will work hand in hand with all patriots to secure victory for our flagbearer in the 2028 general elections,” he assured.

The parliamentary primaries will mark the next phase of the NPP’s preparations towards the 2028 general elections, following the party’s National Delegates Congress, which is scheduled to take place in Kumasi on October 3, 2026.
