Volunteer Urges Ghanaian Leaders to Appreciate Local Development

A community volunteer, known as Sammy, has called on Ghanaian leaders to recognise and appreciate individuals who willingly dedicate their time and effort to the development of their communities.

Mr. Sammy made the appeal while clearing weeds along the roadside from Twifo Praso Bridge to Twifo Darmang in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.

According to him, he has been voluntarily weeding the stretch of road for more than four years without receiving any form of recognition or support. He said his motivation is to keep the road clean and improve the environment for motorists and pedestrians.

He noted that many people are willing to support their communities through voluntary service, but the lack of appreciation often discourages them from continuing their efforts.

Mr. Sammy, therefore, called on government officials, traditional authorities, assembly members, and other community leaders to acknowledge and encourage citizens who voluntarily contribute to community development. He believes that recognising such efforts will motivate more people to participate in communal activities and help promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
